{"id":184,"date":"2017-08-17T11:16:08","date_gmt":"2017-08-17T11:16:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ergonomics.eu\/FEES_WP\/2017\/08\/17\/our-treasurers\/"},"modified":"2024-03-14T09:00:16","modified_gmt":"2024-03-14T09:00:16","slug":"our-treasurers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ergonomics.eu\/FEES_WP\/2017\/08\/17\/our-treasurers\/","title":{"rendered":"Our treasurers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2017<sup>th<\/sup> Council of the<br \/>\nFederation of European Ergonomics Societies (FEES) elected Pedro N.P.<br \/>\nFerreira as treasurer, and thanked all the work to the outgoing treasurer, Reinier Hoftijzer.<\/p>\n<p><b>Reinier Hoftijzer <\/b>joint the <b>Standard &amp; Guidelines Committee <\/b>of FEES in 2010. First he was responsible for the contact with the EU Commission for the Machinery and the PPE directive, later from 2011 to 2017 he represented FEES in both EU working groups for Machinery and PPE.<\/p>\n<p>Mr.<b> Hoftijzer <\/b>was elected as Treasurer of FEES in 2011, and\u00a0 was reelected in 2014. For a while he served as the Secretary General of FEES before the election of the President and Secretary General at the Stockholm Council in 2012.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-width: 0px; line-height: 1.1em; margin: 0px 10px 0px 0px; padding: 0px; outline: 0px; float: right;\" src=\"http:\/\/ergonomics-fees.eu\/sites\/default\/files\/image001_0.jpg\" alt=\"Reinier Hoftijzer\" height=\"200\" \/>In 2014 he was involved in the first MOU between FEES and Ergomach. ErgoMach is an initiative maintained by a steering group consisting of European experts bringing their competence on a voluntary base for the common objective.<\/p>\n<p>From 2013 to 2015 Mr. <b>Hoftijzer <\/b>also participated on behalf of FEES in CEN TC\/122 Ergonomics and in a new Working Group of CEN on <b>Protective Clothing and Comfort<\/b>. One of the results of this Working Group was the establishment of a new CEN TC\/122 WG 8 on <b>Ergonomics design and PPE<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><b>Reinier <\/b>continues his voluntary professional activity mainly on national level with humanfactors.nl.<\/p>\n<p><i><b>Thank you Reinier!<\/b><\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Pedro N.P. Ferreira <\/b>holds a PhD in \u201cManufacturing Engineering and Operations Management\u201d by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nottingham.ac.uk\/\">University of Nottingham<\/a>. His thesis (Resilience in rail engineering planning) addressed human factors, efficiency and safety issues, as well as the impacts of complexity within the planning and delivery of rail engineering work based on a resilience framework.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-width: 0px; line-height: 1.1em; margin: 0px 10px 0px 0px; padding: 0px; outline: 0px; float: right;\" src=\"http:\/\/ergonomics-fees.eu\/sites\/default\/files\/image002_0.png\n\" alt=\"Pedro N.P. Ferreira\" height=\"200\" \/><b>Pedro <\/b> has over ten years of experience, both as a researcher and a consultant in the field of human factors and ergonomics, and over five years in the field of occupational health and safety at work and safety management. He has lectured several courses on these subjects within academia, and has worked as a vocational trainer with both private and public institutions.<\/p>\n<p><b>Dr. Ferreira<\/b> developed projects on a wide variety of industrial sectors, starting in the automotive industry during earlier years and more recently, within the rail, road and aviation industries. Particularly in the railways, he worked for three years at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.networkrail.co.uk\/\">Network Rail<\/a> in London, UK and more recently, he cooperated with the Portuguese Government as an advisor on rail issues for the Secretary of State for Transport. He is currently an invited associate professor at the <a href=\"http:\/\/aero.ulusofona.pt\/index.php\">Department of Aeronautics and Transport<\/a> of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ulusofona.pt\/\">Lus\u00f3fona University (ULHT)<\/a>, a researcher at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mar.ist.utl.pt\/\">CENTEC &#8211; Centre for Marine Technology and Ocean Engineering<\/a> of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ulisboa.pt\/\">University of Lisbon<\/a> and at the <a href=\"http:\/\/cimcyc.ugr.es\/\">CIMCYC &#8211; Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n Mente, Cerebro y Comportamiento<\/a> at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ugr.es\/\">University of Granada<\/a>.<br \/>\nHis research focuses mainly in resilience within various safety critical domains, and he lectures on various safety related courses and operations management.<\/p>\n<p><i><b>Good luck, Pedro!<\/b><\/i><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2017<sup>th<\/sup> Council of the<br \/>\nFederation of European Ergonomics Societies (FEES) elected Pedro N.P.<br \/>\nFerreira as treasurer, and thanked all the work to the outgoing treasurer, Reinier Hoftijzer.<\/p>\n<p><b>Reinier Hoftijzer <\/b>joint the <b>Standard &amp; Guidelines Committee <\/b>of FEES in 2010.
